BotFactory wins $30K NYCEDC Futureworks Grant

BotFactory Inc., JF Brandon

For centuries New York City was the center of industrial and consumer product inventiveness, from Edison lighting up downtown Manhattan with his lightbulb to the creation of the Teleharmonium (first synthesizer), which was piped directly to people's homes and businesses. We like to feel that BotFactory is somewhere along the narrative history of NYC invention, and so we're very excited to be selected to be in the Futureworks NYC Growth Initiative. This is a part of NYC Economic Development Corporation's $150 Million Industrial Development Fund to support startups and create jobs in the NYC area. According to the Brooklyn Eagle,

"The city will invest up to $13 million to build a new Advanced Manufacturing Center at the Brooklyn Army Terminal and to offer a network of services such as access to prototyping, fabrication and production equipment. The Advanced Manufacturing Center will provide as much as 40,000 square feet of shared workspaces and equipment, such as 3D printers and robotics, for new entrepreneurs and established manufacturers."

The other five winners include our fellow office-buddies Sunhouse, The Crated, fellow NYC Next Top Maker winner Poursteady, Pensa and Adam Frank.
