Troubleshooting Easy Connect Mode

When Things are not so Easy

Andrew Ippoliti (BF)
Sometimes your computer may fail to get an IP Address from Easy Connect Mode. You still may be able to connect to your Squink or SV2 by configuring your computer to use the same subnet as the printer. The following instructions will explain how. Please make sure you are connecting directly over Ethernet (ie an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on your computer to the Ethernet port on your printer).

Instructions for Windows

A Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to your Ethernet Port

Open the Control Panel then goto "All Control Panel Items" then "Network Connections." We will be using the Ethernet connection that you have connected to your printer. Right click on the Ethernet connect and then click "Properties"

Modify the Ethernet Properties

In the dialog box that appears select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)."

Then click the "Properties" button.

Set a Static IP Address

Select the radio button that says "Use the following IP address". Then enter the following:

IP Address 10.10.10.9
Subnet mask 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway 10.10.10.10

Then click "Ok"

Instructions for Mac

A Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to the Network Settings

Launch Settings and click on the Network Icon.

Setup a Manual Configuration

Select the Ethernet connection. Make sure "Configure IPv4:" is set to "Manually." Then enter the following:

IP Address 10.10.10.9
Subnet mask 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway 10.10.10.10

Then click "Apply"
