Electronica is one of the largest Electronic and PCB Design trade shows in the World, held every two years in the hotbed of European Innovation, Munich, Germany. 75,000 people cram into the huge convention halls of Messe Munich, filing between nearly 3,000 booths featuring the latest in microprocessors, displays, memory, power electronics and of course, Desktop PCB Fabrication.
Our new intrepid VP of Sales, John Ferrante and myself went down upon the invitation of Elektor Magazine to attend the Electronica FastForward Startup Competition as nominees. We got a nice booth within one of the entrances to the show, allowing us to tap the endless crowds walking by. Everyone was pretty blown away by the product and vision. Everytime we mentioned "Desktop PCB Printer" to one person, anyone who was nearby or was evesdropping would ask, "Really? How is this possible?".
At the end of the show, we came out on top as the first place in the 'Startup' category, and going on to the final round to pick up second place and a €50,000 prize! We're really grateful for the validation and reward for all of the hard work that we've put into Squink - we got a long way to go still.
One wonders what we will be doing at Electronica 2018 - you can bet on us being there!
